About The Role

The General Manager is the Founder's strategic partner and the operational architect of Smart Air Bangladesh. This role exists to translate vision into structured, scalable execution: designing the systems, leading the teams, and stewarding the resources that move the organisation forward. The right candidate will be as comfortable analysing complex data to inform strategic choices as they are building the operational frameworks that make those choices stick.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Strategic Planning and Analysis

- Develop and stress-test annual and quarterly strategic plans, translating organisational ambitions into clear, evidence-based roadmaps the whole organisation can execute against

- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sector data to surface timely insights that sharpen Founder decision-making and reveal growth opportunities

- Design and maintain a dashboard of key performance indicators so leadership has a reliable, real-time view of organisational health

Operations and Process Excellence

- Build and continuously refine the operational systems, policies, and workflows that keep Smart Air Bangladesh running efficiently and to a consistent standard

- Coordinate across departments to ensure projects are scoped clearly, resourced adequately, and delivered on schedule, resolving bottlenecks before they become setbacks

Financial Stewardship

- Partner with the Admin and Finance Manager to lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cost-optimisation, ensuring every financial decision is grounded in rigorous analysis

- Identify and implement efficiency improvements that strengthen margins without compromising mission or quality

Business Development

- Work with the Sales Manager to develop structured growth strategies that expand market reach and deliver against revenue targets

- Build and nurture relationships with strategic partners, key accounts, and institutional stakeholders to open new channels and deepen existing ones

Team Leadership and Capability Building

- Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional team, creating the conditions for high performance through clear expectations, meaningful feedback, and structured accountability

- Oversee hiring and onboarding to ensure the organisation attracts and retains the talent needed to execute its strategy

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA or advanced degree in business, management, or a closely related field

- 8+ years of leadership experience across operations, strategy, or business development, with a demonstrated track record of driving growth and managing cross-functional teams

- Strong analytical capability: able to structure complex problems, interpret data, and translate findings into clear strategic recommendations

- Proven experience leading financial planning, budgeting, and cost-optimisation processes

- Excellent communication skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

- Familiarity with the Bangladeshi consumer or retail market is an advantage

- Fluency in Bengali and English, with strong written and verbal communication in both languages

- A genuine commitment to social impact and environmental sustainability

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Monthly Salary: BDT 1,20,000 - 1,50,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
